For the Epstein files to be released. Or does it have to go through the Senate and Trump's desk?

(21,562 posts)1. Nope.
It will be stopped in the senate by the filibuster,
Trump wont have to sweat about vetoing it.

(8,193 posts)6. Many Republicans are clearly terrified of having to take that vote
Depending on how many Republicans vote for it (media reports say 100 or more could), I would not rule out it overcoming the filibuster and passing the Senate. I think the bigger obstruction is Thune can largely just ignore it and refuse to bring it up for a vote. At some point, though if more information continues to come out, the pressure may become too much for Thune and the Republicans in the Senate to ignore.
