Is this SNAP re-application process a true start over?

Do you know if this re-application process is more elaborate than the recertifiction folks do for SNAP every 6 to 12 months?

///////
The tRump administration has stated that all SNAP recipients will have to reapply for benefits
. This is part of an effort to overhaul the program and prevent fraud, according to Agriculture Secretary Brooke Rollins. While recipients are already required to recertify their information periodically, this new plan requires a full reapplication. Details on when and how people will need to reapply have not yet been released.

I wouldn’t be at all surprised if they require that snap recipients literally re-apply. So they’d have to provide their ID, birth certificate, proof of immigration status, etc.

It’s outrageous.

Perpetrated by SNAP recipients. The fraud is by thieves who access their EBT information and steal recipients benefits. In NY state, , EBT cards don’t have chips, so the security is very precarious.

He is such a fucking lowlife.

If there is any humanity left to write history about this period, they will be endlessly pondering how someone this cruel and deranged could be given this much power for so long.

First, the Feds take our money and give it to Brett Favre.

And now they want us to WASTE more money making New Jersey residents who are food insecure reapply?

I call bullshit.

We don't get all the freebies other states do. We just pay for them. This faux government in DC can fuck right off with this. It's a con to take more money from us. What do you wanna bet no one in Blue States will be eligible?

Thieves. They are scurrilous thieves.

State and local jurisdictions responsible for processing applications receive applications online, with offices closed years ago as part of streamlining and staff reductions and application processors working from home – there’s no physical site for applicants to go.

Those with no access to a computer must go to a designated location to submit an application online, again absent any staff and devoid of hard-copy applications.

The systems that manage public assistance programs are automated, open SNAP grants would need to be closed manually, then reprocessed and reopened all at one time – the workload would be far too burdensome.

Trump believes – incorrectly – that many won’t reapply; Trump is as ignorant of public assistance as he is ignorant of everything else.
