in the Keys. The band was amazing. Almighty Queen, if you ever have a chance to see them. The guitar player who played Brian Mays role was Colombian and he actually got a Grammy yesterday for some Colombian music he had recorded.
The local man who introduced the group, a fairly well known musician here in the Keys, did some ICE jokes, because they are not very well liked or respected down here and it got a lot of laughs. And then a young man walked past the stage wearing a Maga hat, and the MC looked at him and said, please take that off. Its very offensive. Big laughs from the audience.
All in all, it was a wonderful evening. Great weather, great music, great knowing that a lot of communities are standing up to fascism in their own way.

They put on a great show. Any band who can play and sing Queen songs has to be good.
Yes, Queen audiences, and Freddie Mercury fans in particular, tend to be quite progressive, and don't take kindly to homophobic MAGAts.

(168,708 posts)quick story - I was in a Kroger store and there was a young guy with his mum - he was very tall and lanky with a badass mane of curly hair - I told him, wow, you look like Brian May - then I laughed, figuring he had no idea who I meant, and I said, "Boomer talk". But he said, "I know who that is! So many people tell me I look like him so I looked him up, he is AMAZING!"
