that the food pantries still need our help. Please everyone keep stepping forward and doing what we can. One of the food pantries I support is at a local college where many students struggle with food insecurity on a regular basis. It may shock some people but some of the staff at colleges and universities are low paid, like T.A.'s, and they may have families and struggle as well. I've also been on the hunt for food banks on the reservations here in Wisconsin.
Please do try to find a way to support indigenous communities. Winter is coming and heating assistance is likely to be scarce under Crumb The 1st and the fascists. Once again the money and support that is supposed to, by treaties and court decisions, go to these communities is treated by the fascists as something to cut rather than an obligation owed. Heating assistance on the northern states reservations like Pine Ridge in South Dakota is a matter of life or death every winter. Here is a link to one organization that has a heating assistance program on Pine Ridge where you can donate. It's called "Heat Match". This organization also does great things in other areas for indigenous people as well.

(42,029 posts)With students: at the college where I am on the union board, students are given cards to dine at the college cafeteria. A week ago, I attended a fundraiser where they raised $45,000 for those cards in less than 5 minutes.
When I commented on it to my colleague, who at one time was a trump supporter, she said, But you do notice they (the students) all have the latest cell phones.
Which is kind of irrelevant because a) they dont all have the latest cell phones, and b) so many transactions today require a cell phone.
But thats how republicans think.
