How soon can we replace Schumer?

As minority leader of the Senate. Yeah messy internal party mid-term risky process. One Senator has to formally bring it up is my understanding (formally) ... and he/she needs 26 (of our 50) majority and get someone nominated for replacement. Has to do with rules of the Democratic Caucus blah blah blah ... technically possible but highly improbable? Would it 'blow up our party' before the mid-terms ... or unite us? Has Schumer lost that must confidence lately to have this take place before the mid-terms? ASKING FOR A FRIEND. LOL.

Just taking DU's pulse on this. Curious.

I appreciate what Chuck Schumer has done, past tense over the years for our Democracy, but is it time, like sooner then later? Thoughts? Again ASKING FOR A FRIEND. I have come to no real opinion or decision on this and thanks for your input ... yet. Peace.

Schumer speaks of polling but the MSM and unnamed major Democratic donors set the stage for POTUS Biden dropping out of the race for POTUS.

Other Democratic leaders including Schiff and Pelosi contributed to Biden dropping out.

Democratic Party would have more electoral success if leaders listened to wants of the base voters.

But that was in the heat of the moment and perhaps a bit harsh and not realistic.

He should however start having talks with the caucus about stepping down from the leadership role.

There simply has not been a coherent strategy since Trump started this term, and perhaps this failure is shared with Durbin who is the minority whip. At first I was willing to cut Schumer some slack, even after the previous CR debacle. Personally, I would give him through January, and see how this plays out. Realistically, he’s not leaving his post until after the elections.

Being the minority leader at any time is the most thankless job you probably can have in Washington. And I don’t think he was terrible during Biden’s term. He did get some useful legislation pushed through. But there was also the pressure from a democratic president, who he and several others had a long working relationship with as VP and a fellow senator.

It was to get us fighting with each other so we take down the most powerful in the party. It's last year's debate all over again. The republicans are going overboard to rage bait and gaslight us. I feel like we've seen how this movie ends.
