TN-07: Some Tennessee voters express concerns about political mailer sent

WILLIAMSON COUNTY, Tenn. (WKRN) — As the race for Tennessee’s 7th Congressional District heats up, some Tennessee residents have expressed concerns after getting a political postcard in the mail.

“Your neighbors are watching and will know if you miss this critical special election,” the mailer reads, in part. The postcard, sent from an unverified source, also reads “The TN Republican party HQ will see whether you have voted” and “we are compiling an official list of Republicans who fail to vote.”

Tennessee Republican Party Chairman Scott Golden said the state GOP did not send the postcard, adding that it could violate federal electioneering laws.

“We’ve had a few calls to the office regarding the mailer … It wasn’t coming from the Tennessee Republican Party, even though it certainly referenced us … It was done with an Austin [Austin, TX] postmark,” Golden told News 2.

I can only find one article now, and it's behind a paywall, but from the beginning of the article you can see the similarity.

I ask ya, HOW something could possibly be from the TENNESSEE Republican party, when the POSTMARK is from Austin, TEXAS, so far away from here? What do you think we took a wagon train full 'o them there flyers all the way down to Texas, just so as we could fool everyone!?! Heck, that's two weeks ride, and we'd be passin' thru Injun country besides! That's nuthin but poppycock balderdash!

"Your neighbors will report you." - Republican Gestapo

So thoroughly unAmerican.
