If people now use "Democrat" Party derisively, it is likely because they know you are touchy about it and they are capitalizing upon the ease of offending you. It is more logical to call it "Democrat" party as the "Republican" Party is so called and far less intuitive to lengthen it to "Democratic".

There are better battles to be fought, with much higher stakes than this.

Fascists always try to redefine language to prevent you from expressing dissent, and to force you to frame your speech in their terms.

Removing the words "democracy" and "democratic" from our vocabulary is not accidental, but the MAGA-Speak does also make them very very easy to spot.
