I'm stuck in a hotel this morning and the TV in the restaurant was on Faux Snooze. I grabbed the clicker and turned it off. It was non stop bullshit about how the Dems are causing the shut down. Pure lies.

(3,112 posts)The TVs usually dont have a password set, so go to the settings, add a password and then block Fox. I remembered that once and it worked

(13,472 posts)We need Fox watchers to hear truth, that the Republican-led congress is avoiding swearing in an elected rep to avoid having enough demand to release the Epstein files (why?), and that they control all branches of government so how can the Democrats be at fault of a shut-down? Oh, and also that undocumented people would not be able to receive Federal healthcare benefits. All important current examples of truth Fox watchers need to hear watching Fox.
Fox needs to be reformed.

(26,766 posts)I asked if they could change it to CNN. The harried cashier just handed me the remote, and basically said go for it, so I did. I not only changed it to MSNBC, but also set the parental controls and LOCKED Faux channels out. So unless they guessed the lock code, they couldn't ever put Faux back on. Returned the remote and walked out with a big smile on my face.

(5,118 posts)As lastlib says, if you can get the remote, you can block Fox. Google if you need more detail but it isn't difficult. Do future viewers a favor and block Fox!

PS if you're the ultra honest type, did you leave a twenty behind?
I'll post a composite later rather than use a crappy AI image. IF I CAN FIND A TWENTY!
"Just in case", I'll be rehearsing my Howard Beale imitation.
And congrats on being the hero of the day!

to disprove and start laughing out loud as loud as I could and then asked people sitting close

(4,092 posts)I stayed at a Hampton Inn two weeks ago that had Faux News running in the breakfast area. When they contacted me for comments I reminded them of the $787 million settlement. I told them it was the last Hampton Inn I was going to be staying at.

(65,591 posts)In the last five years and never seen the TV turned to faux news. Most of the time its on the local broadcast channels on their morning show. A few times it was CNN

(36,774 posts)I hate the squawking box so much that I haven't owned one in 30+ years. The only places I can't avoid the damned things are in restaurants and similar businesses that keep them on all the time. I need a TV-B-Gone for those situations. Turn that noise off!
