govt there's nothing for him to govern. So what happens then? We will be 350 million people without a country. W/o a govt he has no authority to declare martial law or collect tax money.

Another idea the Rs didn't think through well enough.

We need to keep the govt shut down until the middle class gets health ins. etc.

Not too long ago anyone who predicted what we are seeing now would have been scoffed at as overreacting. Now hindsight IS 20-20 and the snowball just keeps getting bigger.

Won't come out or be calculated during shutdown. Those numbers scare him.

You were challenged when you said we know without doubt that the elections will be stopped.
We think he may try, but that is far from your 100% certainty.

People pointed that out and it's still true. States run elections and his term will end no later than noon on January 20, 2029, presuming he doesn't succumb to his unhealthy habits before then.

Like the national Constitution prescribes certain things about elections, state constitutions mandate the elections be held. And the constitution has limits on when terms end. So if there's no election, those terms still end.

That I post on this board, like when I started a thread about not having elections and then I went on to explain in detail how they could still have them but interfere with them and make them anything but democratic and fair. But if you read some people’s comments you would think I never added the rest of that to that sentence, dammit.
