BREAKING NEWS: Leaked pic of Treasury Secretarys phone shows a panicked text from the Ag Secretary.
She's worried that China has outsmarted Trump, buy buying up Argentine soybeans at the expense of US farmers.
Trump plans to bail out Argentina with billions of dollars, btw.

"This photo shows the Treasury Secretary reading a text from the Agriculture Secretary. She's worried China has outmaneuvered the US by buying up Argentine soybeans at the expense of our farmers, even as the Administration plans to bail out Argentina with billions of dollars," Rohit Chopra, Director of @CFPB said, showing a photo of Bessent reading the text message over his phone.
We bailed out Argentina yesterday (Bessent) and in return, the Argentines removed their export tariffs on grains, reducing their price, and sold a bunch of soybeans to China, at a time when we would normally be selling to China. Soy prices dropping further because of it. This gives China more leverage on us, Rollins wrote.
"When the Trump admin's policies are so bad that Cabinet secretaries are texting each other like 'Wait, are we destroying agriculture?' Spoiler: Yes. Yes you are," wrote the House Democrats on the Agriculture Committee.
"So let me get this straight. Trump gets into a trade war with China. China stops buying American crops. Argentine farmers fill the gap, screwing US farmers out of billions. Trump then sends $20 billion to help out Argentina's economy. How is this winning? What am I missing?" asked Rep. Mark Pocan (D-WI) on X.
"Citrone, the co-founder of Discovery Capital Management, is also a friend and former colleague of Bessenta fact that has not been previously reported in American media outlets. Citrone, by his own account, helped make Bessent very wealthy," Legum quoted from his report on Bluesky.

Ag Sec. Brooke Rollins is in a panic over a $20B US bailout to Argentina, which led Argentina to cut export taxes on soybeans. This enabled China to buy cheaply from Argentina amid US-China trade tensions, reducing US sales and hurting American farmers.
The $20B US bailout to Argentina, announced Sept 24, 2025, by Treasury Sec. Scott Bessent, is a currency swap line to stabilize ally Javier Milei's economy amid high inflation and debt. It includes potential bond purchases.
The American Soybean Association
said Argentina, a major agricutural producer, sold 20 shiploads of soybeans to China around the same time Bessent announced the U.S. was exploring a financial package. The transaction was eased by Buenos Aires waiving taxes on its soybean exports. China has turned to other major soybean exporters, such as Argentina and Brazil amid a trade war with the U.S.
