A super-PAC backing New York Mayor Eric Adams got a hefty donation from Brock Pierce — a child-actor-turned-Bitcoin-investor — five days before the embattled politician ended his campaign.

Pierce, who had a role in the 1992 Walt Disney Co. film The Mighty Ducks, gave more than $1.1 million to a political action committee called Empower NYC on Sept. 23, according to New York State Board of Elections records. It was the biggest donation to the group, which has raised about $2.6 million to back Adams, who closed the curtain on his struggling reelection campaign Sunday.

Representatives for Empower NYC and DNA Holdings Venture Inc., a digital-asset advisory firm Pierce co-founded, did not immediately respond to a requests for comment.

Except for a self-financed run he made for the White House, it It appears to be the largest donation made by Pierce, who co-founded cryptocurrency firm Tether and is chairman of the Bitcoin Foundation.
