...everyone else who is saying "No more American goods" stays to that in longer term, will be sending tariff money to farmers on a permanent basis. Wonder if he will bail out wine and spirits industry too? Just the Canadian sales loss amounts to 10% of gross sales for US producers and EU and others are on the same buy "Anywhere but America" bandwagon which will make that downturn even worse. Defense industry facing some of the same with EU countries that want to rearm but looking to support EU vs. US industries first.

Trump bails out reich wing/libertarian loony experiment in Argentina, infuriating US farmers.
Considers another socialist bailout for US farmers.

July 2020 article from the last time trump screwed the pooch.

The spending surge began in mid-2018 when USDA started writing checks to farmers and ranchers to pay for the damage from Trump’s trade war, which brought about higher tariffs that crushed agricultural exports and commodity prices. Farm sales to China plummeted from $19.5 billion in 2017 to just $9 billion the next year; as producers continued to hemorrhage profits in 2019, farm bankruptcies jumped nearly 20 percent last year.

The trade bailout has now spanned three years and surpassed $23 billion, even though it was never appropriated by Congress. Instead, the money was funneled through USDA’s Commodity Credit Corporation, a Depression-era agency that can borrow from the U.S. Treasury to stabilize the farm economy.

I assume only rich GOP donars get bailed out and local farmers get the shaft. Either way, who is managing this program? They are firing everyone.
