James Comey responds

Sept. 25, 2025, 9:37 PM EDT
By Phil Helsel

... “My family and I have known for years that there are costs to standing up to Donald Trump. But we couldn’t imagine ourselves living any other way,” Comey said in a video on Instagram. “We will not live on our knees, and you shouldn’t either.”

"My heart is broken for the Department of Justice, but I have great confidence in the federal judicial system," Comey said. "And I’m innocent. So let’s have a trial."

A federal grand jury indicted Comey earlier Thursday on one count of making a false statement and one count of obstruction of a congressional proceeding stemming from testimony he gave to Congress in 2020.

Prosecutors allege that he lied to the Judiciary Committee on Sept. 30, 2020, when he asserted that he did not authorize an FBI official to act as an anonymous source to the media ...

I doubt this goes anywhere past pre-trial. The felon cannot afford Mr. Comey's legal team taking depositions, much less having him testify.

Maurene Comey, after Trump fired her from the Manhattan federal prosecutorial office. She has since sued the Trump administration, alleging her ousting was driven by who her father is and was illegal.

"Somebody that I love dearly recently said that fear is the tool of a tyrant, and she's right, but I'm not afraid, and I hope you're not either," he said. "I hope instead, you are engaged, you are paying attention, and you will vote like your beloved country depends upon it, which it does" ...

and then send it back to trump to wipe his ass with.
THEN they're gonna get to do discovery as part of the vindictive prosecution motion to dismiss, and won't it be fun dragging Pam and Kash into a little room to ask THEM about false statements under oath.

Trump and his entire WH staff and nearly everyone in charge at main justice is gonna rue the day the decided to fuck with someone as law-smart as a former FBI Director. I'm no fan of Comey personally, but this is gonna be a doozy of a well-deserved, and well overdue, very public asskicking.

Welcome to the midterms, this is the pregame.

I hope he has plenty for attorneys, as trump uses our money for his petty games of vengeance.

6. There was something calming and reassuring about Comey's response.

Trump’s helter-skelter, machete-wielding method of operation compared to Comey’s soft spoken, principled response was a profound display of the judicial spectrum.

I hope I never catch myself thinking that Trump can’t go any lower because he always can and always will. What a despicable man he is.

11. Comey held a press conference that violated DOJ rules and helped to elect trump
Sun Sep 28, 2025, 05:26 PM

Comey was an asshole and attacked Hillary Clinton when he announced that there would be no charges on the email issue. Under DOJ rules, when the decision not to proceed is made, there is NO announcement. Comey was an asshole and held a press conference where he attacked Clinton.

This press conference was so offensive and against DOJ policy that the DOJ inspector general called Comey out.

The DOJ's inspector general agreed that Comey "violated long-standing Department practice and protocol by, among other things, criticizing Clinton’s uncharged conduct," and that Comey "usurped the authority of the Attorney General." https://oig.justice.gov/node/640
