About this Jimmy Kimmel show cancellation that I think is being missed.

Even though ABC has reinstated this TV show, Nexstar and Sinclair has chosen to have their affiliates not air this show in certain markets.
My question / concern is, what else is not shown on certain markets that they have enormous control?
I think that this was the first time to see the map of coverage that is held by Sinclair and Nexar along with notation of where they have blocked programming.
Are my concerns valid?

Sinclair and Nexstar have to pay ABC a fine for every episode of every program they dont broadcast, and if it goes on long enough, they can offer the program to other non-affiliate stations.

Regardless of your reasoning, that seems like a particularly poor choice of words
when we are talking about free speech and government/right-wing media attempts
to suppress the first amendment!

3. I am definitely irritated that I'm paying a cable bill and not getting that programming.

When I get a chance I’m calling the cable company.

4. When Sinclair was allowed to buy up so many stations, Democrats tried to stop it -- we knew

Sinclair has been shaping the cult and the dumbing down of the citizenry for years.
Those of us old enough to remember radio in the 1970s, it was local, decentralized and independent.
Now you got 3 kinds - right wing talkers, ‘Christian’, and vapid sports that won’t stray.
In major cities maybe you’ve got an NPR or a university station, that’s it.

7. Sinclair owns a bunch of stations, but a large portion of them are in small markets

Sinclair only covers 6 of the top 25 largest media markets, only 1 of the top 10
8 Washington, D.C.
13 Seattle-Tacoma
16 Minneapolis-St. Paul
22 Raleigh-Durham
23 Portland, OR
24 St. Louis

Nexstar is probably more dangerous as they have stations in 8 of the 10 largest media markets

1 New York
2 Los Angeles
3 Chicago
4 Dallas-Fort Worth
5 Philadelphia
6 Houston
8 Washington, D.C.
10 San Francisco-Oakland-San Jose

doesn't have a local station not owned by one or the other. I can't see local news that isn't right wing nut approved.
