he was a racist, a bigot, an anti-Semite, and a misogynists. A divisive promoter of hate. And those who choose to honour that legacy, equally complicit.

...and winning pretty hard, which I imagine any educated older guy could do, so it wasn't exactly impressive. It looked more like showing off, like if an average NFL player jumped into a high school football game and knocked everyone around like he was playing pros. I wasn't impressed, and his arguments weren't what I'd call "serious", as in he wasn't there to listen or to find out what was going on, he was just going to hammer away at his points until the students were worn down. I never liked people who were like that, especially with kids.

Other than that I know nothing about the guy. I did google up a page of his quotes, which were posted by a friendly site. A couple were good, a couple were bad, most of the rest were arguable, or just disingenuous. He seems like one of a whole category of people who are so closed-minded they hardly process information at all unless it supports their assumptions, which describes non-serious thinkers who are hardly worth talking to or thinking about.

He was glib and knew how to fake out people with no skill at debating. Anytime he went up against people who knew the tricks he got his ass handed to him.

If anyone needs proof he was never interested in the exchange of ideas, look no further than his arguments. From one place to another, they never changed. If someone was pressing him hard in one place, he evaded and moved to something he was more effective at, then *poof*, the same talking point was back at his next stop.

He never re-evaluated based on the perspectives people brought up because that was never anything he was interested in. He was there to put on a show and score points with his audience.

She is the type of spokesperson that the Dems need. Unfortunately, misogyny is still prevalent in our country.
