Like. What if his opposition stayed an opposition but just ignored him completely? Not praise him or criticize him in any way, but just said nothing about him aside from mentioning how bad a certain thing or policy might be. What if the opposition party only proposed policies that help people and addressed fundamental needs of our society? What if we approached debates and conversations without trying to win, but with the goal to enlighten and be enlightened?
How would Trump and his allies receive not being hated or cared about in any way? How would his supporters fare not having Trump Derangement Syndrome to blame for their terrible situation? What if there was no evidence to suggest Democrats are the enemy because they arent actually out to take down their Lord and Savior Trump?
Because we all know at the end of the day Trump is not the root of the problem. The billionaires and criminals he protects -and the system that made them, are.

(10,822 posts)We are almost in October.
The budget showdown / government shut down is going to rage on until Thanksgiving.
After an 11th hour deal is struck to punt the issue to next October, we will be into the holidays and 2025 will be over.
2026 is THE MID-TERM to end all Mid-terms... Trump will be the ballot initiative and the American people are going to be salty as fuck. The holidays this year are going to be miserable for millions - both through lost purchasing power (via inflation and job losses) and through fatigue of the bullshit alternate reality Trump wants to pretend is real. His policies are bad enough, but his mental decline, physical rot and emotional imbalance (plus he's Putin's bitch AND the dumbest human being in the last 70 years) will all snow ball into an anchor around the entire GOP.
Following the 2026 mid-terms, Trump will be indicted and impeached at least once more. His abuse of power and breaking of laws will be too much to prevent it. The GOP will throw him and MAGA over the sides of the sinking ship in a vain attempt to save themselves. Then the final two years of Trump will be 100% dedicated to him trying like hell to stay in power to avoid prison and when it all fails and the walls close in, he will resign and flee to Russia or Israel seeking asylum. That is if he doesn't do what I hope happens to him every second he remains in the oxygen consuming population and that it drop fucking dead of a massive stroke.

(13,275 posts)The senate and the house to stop the trump agenda cold. I so hope this happens maybe some of the damage done can be repaired and something to prevent tyranny of the minority and fascist proofing the government more. And reinstate the fairness act. So faux newsmax and oan has to share airtime with democrats showing both sides of issues and announcing which sides pundits are on.

(6,039 posts)The fact that Trump is polling at 38% means he is maintaining his core (maybe a little more as I've always thought his core was 33%). Trump isn't going anywhere. And he will continue to get whatever level of attention he wants.
What we don't know is how his health will hold up. He's 79. My guess is that he's receiving treatment for something. How long can he maintain good enough health to continue? Obviously he has access to the best healthcare in the world. So if there is a way to keep him going, they'll figure it out.
