I think it would be inaccurate to describe Bolton as being "silenced." He's still out there criticizing Trump. This is from a week ago, for example:

He is a conservative, who just thinks Trump is not actually "conserving" the features of the USA that conservatives used to want to keep. As such, I suspect there's a fair amount of sympathy for him in conservative law "enforcement" circles.

I listened to it and he basically said that Krasnov wants to remove himself from the Ukraine war because he doesn't want to look like a loser.

Better than I expected I guess.

Which, like the hawkish Bolton, might have a more muted response from the left because some people are still salty about 2016 and his mishandling of the Hillary email investigation.

But that type of muted reaction would be a mistake. Because they will begin there, but they will not stop there.

It is all about Trump's retribution for perceived wrongs.

He's taking a page from Putin.

Trump telegraphed his intent to go after John Bolton long ago. No doubt Bolton thoroughly scoured all his personal documents before tne FBI searched his home, getting rid of anything even remotely incriminating.

Only Trump would be stupid enough to hang on to dozens of boxes full of top secret documents, storing them openly in his bathroom at Mar-a-Lago, knowing full well Jack Smith and the FBI were coming for them.
