I saw the request for the warrant to search his properties, all of the good stuff was heavily redacted. What I was allowed to see wasn't good enough reasons to do a search, IMO.
Bolton even vetted material that he put in his book and it was approved as not being classified.
It has been a while since the, I will call this a raid, on Bolton, maybe they are having problems planting "evidence?"
Doing the raid has silenced Bolton, which may have been the purpose.

(24,605 posts)I think it would be inaccurate to describe Bolton as being "silenced." He's still out there criticizing Trump. This is from a week ago, for example:

(104,872 posts)He is a conservative, who just thinks Trump is not actually "conserving" the features of the USA that conservatives used to want to keep. As such, I suspect there's a fair amount of sympathy for him in conservative law "enforcement" circles.

(29,911 posts)I listened to it and he basically said that Krasnov wants to remove himself from the Ukraine war because he doesn't want to look like a loser.
Better than I expected I guess.

But that type of muted reaction would be a mistake. Because they will begin there, but they will not stop there.

(5,782 posts)"A Columbia law professor who is a friend and adviser to former FBI Director James Comey was subpoenaed last week by federal prosecutors in connection with a criminal probe into whether Comey allegedly lied in testimony before Congress, sources familiar with the matter told ABC News.
Daniel Richman has previously acknowledged his role as an intermediary between Comey and reporters in the wake of Comey's 2017 firing by President Donald Trump during his first term over Trump's anger with the FBI's investigation into his 2016 campaign.
Richman met with federal prosecutors in the Eastern District of Virginia on Tuesday, sources familiar with the matter said.
Trump later accused Comey of breaking the law by sharing his memos, arguing they contained classified information, though Richman later told ABC News in a statement that none of the documents had any classification markings. "

(16,247 posts)Trump telegraphed his intent to go after John Bolton long ago. No doubt Bolton thoroughly scoured all his personal documents before tne FBI searched his home, getting rid of anything even remotely incriminating.
Only Trump would be stupid enough to hang on to dozens of boxes full of top secret documents, storing them openly in his bathroom at Mar-a-Lago, knowing full well Jack Smith and the FBI were coming for them.
