Say, I have an idea that might grab the fat ass by his pussy

Just hear me out. What if CBS and ABC switched Colbert and Kimmel for a week? They can each claim they were doing market studies.

(Queue dramatic music here) and after the week, they both can come back because the majority of Americans trust them! The market study says! Like modern day Walter Cronkites

Man, this stuff is good!

1. Their contracts probably prohibit them from appearing on competing networks.

Kimmel is still under contract; he's just "suspended," and Colbert is on the air until May.

They were both fired without cause.

5. Neither was technically "fired." Colbert's show continues until May.

Until then he remains employed, but his contract won't be renewed. Kimmel wasn't fired either; he still is under contract and presumably is still being paid. If either of them breached their contract by appearing on another network (which is probably a contractual provision), they would be fired for real and probably have to pay the network some kind of penalty or liquidated damages.

You are talking legal technicalities.

I am talking morality, right vs wrong.

We all know they were fired without cause on a moral level.

Trump can play legal warfare all he wants.
We know what he is doing and why.
And what he did was wrong.

7. Of course, but the realities of show business and the law of contracts

will control what happens next as far as those particular shows are concerned. Neither Colbert nor Kimmel is likely to defy those realities, but they know public opinion is with them regardless - so they are likely to find a way to keep their voices before the public.

The legal niceties don't matter.
We know what he is doing and why.

Yes the public is against the behavior.
