A Question No One Ever Addresses

So many Democrats voting to honor Charlie Kirk has really hit a nerve with me. Like Lisa Murkowski, I read that many Democrats are afraid of death threats against themselves and their families, etc. , and that is why they often go weak knee and go along with the indefensible.

Here is my question: Are making death threats against public officials no longer a crime in America?

If it's the Trump DOJ refusing to prosecute threats against Democrats than this too needs to be screamed to the public as another example of the Trump Party building a fascist state.

how will people hear it?" This has been the standard answer.

But maybe the Democratic congressional members could hold a vigil on the Capitol steps for the Minnesota Democratic politicians and their family members who were shot and stream it on social media.

thought would have been given in all that time to a plan to work around that.

It is not a valid excuse. Especially when I call my rep and ask how he plans to make the Democratic position known and his staff member says, "Well, he is drafting a press release."

Yeah. Seriously. They must all just love that sweet, sweet high they get from sniffing the wet ink on the mimeograph machine.

I'm so angry about this. I don't have Dem representation in this state so what's a person to do? Call Jeffries office?? The Dem party needs to pull their head out and show some spine and leadership!
I've been to protests, weekly rallies, town halls and nothing seems to move the needle. Fascism is getting worse everyday and it seems that people are just going about like nothing is wrong!? WTF??
What else can we do to stop this S*%# ?
I hate to rant but...

sent emails to my senators, Tammy Baldwin & the DNC, no longer going to identify as a democrat as we have NO leadership; the only people consistently speaking out are AOC, Bernie & Jasmine, guess the rest are rich and just don’t care

She belongs to one of the most persecuted minorities in America. Lord God Charlie amplified that radial extremist persecution to an unimaginable level. Given her impeccable track record of fighting for what's right, I'll give her the benefit of doubt and say she just wants Kirk to disappear as soon as possible and this is the shortest path to that end.

He got in front of a microphone several times the past few days - he introduced the NOPE (No Political Enemies Act).

I think Robert Garcia has been doing a good job as ranking member of the Oversight Committee. Chris van Hollen has been sticking his neck out.

There are others who I would like to see in front of the microphone more often, they include. but are not limited: Melanie Stansbury, Eric Swallwell, Maxwell Frost, Jamie Raskin.

IMHO, I would rather see less of Schumer at the microphone. He is still delivering "canned" unimaginative messages.

Couldn’t believe it passed unanimously. If you are that afraid. Retire. Let someone else have a chance to fight for our democracy. That was the last straw for me. Will no longer consider myself a democrat. I cry every single time children get shot in school. Stand up for them don’t honor a fascist.

But keep in mind who is now in charge of enforcing the laws.

Make any kind of hostile remark to a member of the High Command and they'll be at your door before you can take a deep breath.

Make detailed, repeated, explicit lethal threats against any of the "enemies of the state" and hear the crickets...

Bright

The unrelenting attacks would have left them unable to get much done, just as funding the government requires focus and negotiation. Things that take time.
