For those who bemoan most big lottery prizes being won by Californians, perhaps this is why. Californians - unlike Florida men - know how to conduct themselves upon winning.
P.S. - The Powerball is up past $1.1 billion.
Police in Florida arrested a Powerball winner after they said he kicked a deputy in the face. Newly released body cam video shows what happened at the Tradewinds Resort in April. In the video, a Pinellas County Sheriffs Office deputy arrives on the scene to break up a fight between 50-year-old James Farthing and another guest. According to an affidavit, Farthing kicked the responding officer in the face before attempting to run out of the hotel. However, he was tackled by police and arrested before he could escape.
Farthing is now facing multiple charges, including resisting an officer with violence and battery on a law enforcement officer. Police said Farthings girlfriend, who was arguing with other hotel guests, was also arrested for disorderly conduct. Farthing had made history in Kentucky in April after he won the largest Powerball jackpot sold in the state at that time. His winning ticket got him a $167 million prize.

(18,708 posts)According to court records, Farthing strangled a girlfriend; sold cocaine to an undercover police informant; escaped from a prison work detail; bribed a corrections officer to deliver Xanax and Oxycodone into a state facility; possessed stolen firearms; and even involved his mother in a marijuana smuggling plot for which they were both indicted.
