He's a tribal cop in the first movie who really gets under the FBI agents' skins, prompting a line from Sam Shepard: "Great, it's Chief Pain In The Ass".

I got to be an extra a few times on Northern Exposure. I never met him in his role as Leonard but boy did I have a crush. When the show ended they sold off and auctioned everything. I bought the big Cowichan sweater he wore. Still got it. I’m truly sad. He was wonderful in his roles.

Sounds silly now I guess. He played some iconic characters some have mentioned. Dances with Wolves at the top of the list. Sad.

When I see these famous people going so young, it reminds me my own time is coming to an end. Hopefully not for another couple of decades, but who of us really knows?

RIP, Graham Greene, you will be missed greatly.

Beside all the fine parts he played in movies and TV, I always thought it would have been great casting when he was young for him to play Jim Chee in movie/TV adaptions of the Hillerman books.
Alas, that was only a fantasy of mine.

Lou Diamond Phillips was a close friend of Greene's who recommended that he join the Longmire cast wrote:

Heartbroken. Terribly saddened to hear of the passing of Graham Greene at only 73.
From Wolf Lake to Longmire, we had a beautiful friendship.
An Actor’s Actor. One of the wittiest, wiliest, warmest people I’ve ever known. Iconic and Legendary. RIP, My Brother.
