I looked on DU to see if anyone posted this to provide me with some answers. I can't figure out why anyone would throw stuff out of an upper floor window where everyone can see you. Odd!

(73,209 posts)Windows are sealed & bulletproof. So to toss something, the glass would have to be removed.
Also that contractors are not allowed at WH is slob is squatting there.
No idea if accurate, just sharing what I read.

(1,315 posts)Something so foul, no one wanted the stench lingering through the hallways?
Or maybe some quick thinker trying to get evidence out the door without getting caught?
Everything about these people is just so fkg weird and shady. *shrug*
BigmanPigman
(53,570 posts)and it seems to me the first one was a person's leg on the windowsill. The diaper thing would be a possibility but sealed windows makes it unlikely. Someone with digital technology should zoom in on that.

I should have done that originally. Sorry.

(448 posts).......that damned ballroom aggravated me too much again. Sorry, Bigman.
BigmanPigman
(53,570 posts)and it is my fault since I DID have to sit through a few minutes about the ballroom and I skipped ahead to find the part about the trash being tossed out when I first watched it.

(23,813 posts)its a fake/AI video and someone is monitoring how many people believe anything based on how viral it goes? If so, that tracks.

(41,563 posts)be surprised that they use AI. It's cheaper, and they can still get money for clicks.

(33,488 posts)That's why I'm a bit skeptical that it's real.
If it's real, it would likely be construction workers tossing junk to pick up later. (Which they often do) But it's the WH, not my house...LOL SS would probably have a fit if they threw stuff.

(41,563 posts)Take a look at this long article about how the author uses his AI constantly. Read especially the part where he's asking ChatGPT to give a history of the neighborhood he's walking in, and then when it gets boring he prompts it thus: "Avoid cliches and general statements like "The building contributes to the vibrancy of the neighborhood, and go with lurid facts." And immediately he get info about past murders, Sid Vicious' being charged with murder of his girlfriend in that neighborhood blah blah..."
I hope you'll get the drift about the extent of AI uses by all kinds of sectors and demographics.

We are up against AI consumers and AI using operatives. We have to learn how this tech ish works.

Article is worth a read for details. I think the Daily Beast had more details.
Weird stuff happens at the WH now and then. I do know that contractors like to throw stuff out of windows because it's more convenient than going up and down stairs. (Been there done that and so has anyone who owns a two story house. ) But it's the WH and stuff like that probably shouldn't be going on over there.

(20 posts)Beyond just claiming it? Like - you ran specific forensics online about the video that shows it's xx% likely AI?

(41,563 posts)Did you challenge the previous poster's factual claim that sealed & bullet proof WH windows can't be opened? https://www.democraticunderground.com/?com=view_post&forum=1002&pid=20603005
No? Well, at least I've made a case for it.
You haven't even looked at who the sponsor of the video is, have you.

If you want to help figure whether or not videos are AI generated, here's a start.
Here's a post of Rachel Maddow from a month ago.
If you expect or demand people that people do video forensics to fact check AI use, maybe rethink that.
Feel Good Inc
(20 posts)You didn't say, "It could be an AI test video plant to gauge human reaction as emotional or fact checking...". You said: "It's an AI test video plant to gauge human reaction as emotional or fact checking..." - that's why I asked. You seem certain it's AI and I just wanted to know what made you conclude that.
I never claimed in this thread - at any point - it's not AI. I don't know if it's real or not, which is why I am trying to understand why you're saying it's definitely AI.
ancianita
(41,563 posts)I made the CASE for it being AI generated, which, after my effort post to you, is clear you haven't taken sufficient time to examine.
And when it comes to more than one poster here making factual claims, it seems apparent that you challenge who you want to challenge.
I'm not doing the work for you. Either look at my links or we're done here.

(6,761 posts)That 's the very definition of a definitive claim. (No "I think", or "I believe", or "in my opinion" - nope, just "it's an AI test video plant", period).
Feel Good Inc
(20 posts)This is a definitive claim:
It's an AI test video plant to gauge human reaction as emotional or fact checking.
And you made no case in the message I replied to. I think any person who reads that post would deduce you were making a definitive claim - not a speculative one.

(20 posts)...which started this whole thing. I just asked for evidence of this DIRECT FOOTAGE. You still haven't provided anything beyond the fact AI video exists and can be used to manipulate ... but that doesn't prove or disprove anything in this video.
But again, that was not anywhere in your initial post, which definitively said it was AI. Not maybe AI. Not you think it's AI - but that it was AI.

Also saw recent photos online of many large, dark birds gathering in front of the White House.

(41,563 posts)In 2017, the Asan Institute for Policy Studies said that Occupy Democrats "share[s] both real and fake news ... further blurring the line between fact and fiction".[14] Some scientific studies have identified Occupy Democrats as a fake news website.[46][47][48][49]
According to the University of Iowa library, Occupy Democrats "has been known to show misleading, fake, or exaggerated partisan content".[22] The Valencia College library includes Occupy Democrats on a list of sources that "cannot usually be accepted at face value and need further verification from other sources to determine if information is credible".[50] In a 2017 poster session developed by the library staff of the University of California at Merced, Occupy Democrats was rated "questionable" for its factual reporting and was noted for "not having a very good fact check record".[51]
Evaluation by media
Occupy Democrats has repeatedly been criticized by fact-checking websites for posting "exaggerated or invented news stories". Brooke Binkowski, a managing editor at Snopes, commented that Occupy Democrats' headlines were often "extremely misleading".[33]
According to The Atlantic, Occupy Democrats' posts are "studded with straightforwardly fake news".[16] The Los Angeles Weekly reports that its posts are "free from the constraints of objectivity and, in some cases, facts".[5] A 2016 BuzzFeed News analysis found it was "the least accurate left-wing page" of several Facebook pages it reviewed and cited one instance where it published a satirical story as fact.[52] In the run-up to the 2020 U.S. presidential election, The New York Times reported that Occupy Democrats "twisted facts to push a critical narrative about Republicans".[53]
In 2017, PolitiFact included Occupy Democrats in its list of fake news websites. However, PolitiFact later removed Occupy Democrats from its list of fake news sites and, according to the Miami New Times, "admitted Occupy Democrats should never have been on the list in the first place".[54] As of December 2020, PolitiFact classified 62% of 16 posts shared by Occupy Democrats it had evaluated as "not accurate".[55] A further 31% it considered "half-true".[55]
In 2021, a post shared by Occupy Democrats claimed Nikki Haley had changed her first name to sound more "white" in order to further her political career.[56] A fact check column by USA Today reported that Nikki was her legal middle name, she had used it as a given name since childhood, and that it was of ethnic Punjabi origin...
Popular perception
In a 2017 survey among US readers, Occupy Democrats was voted the "least trusted news source" among American readers, just below Breitbart News and BuzzFeed.[66] In September 2018, the English Wikipedia deprecated Occupy Democrats as a source due to its unreliability.[67][68] In an October 2018 Simmons Research survey of 38 news organizations, Occupy Democrats was ranked the third least-trusted news organization by Americans, underneath Breitbart News, the Daily Kos and the Palmer Report, with InfoWars and The Daily Caller being lower-ranked.

(6,761 posts)A video posted online on Monday of a black bag being heaved out of the White House showed maintenance work being done by a contractor, according to a White House official.
The video was originally posted on an Instagram account called Washingtonianprobs and spread widely on social media, prompting jokes about White House security protocol and speculation about what was being thrown out. It shows a person wearing white pants stepping a foot out onto a windowsill on the second floor of the White House and tossing down what appears to be a black plastic bag. Later someone tosses something long and white out the window. The second floor of the White House is where the Presidents private residence is located.
It was a contractor who was doing regular maintenance while the President was gone, the White House official said in a statement in response to questions about the images.
I'm sure all those people who insisted it was AI will be back to admit they were wrong
