..................

"Voter I.D. Must Be Part of Every Single Vote. NO EXCEPTIONS! I Will Be Doing An Executive Order To That End!!!," Trump said on Truth Social on Aug. 30. "Also, No Mail-In Voting, Except For Those That Are Very Ill, And The Far Away Military."

...................

.................
In March, Trump signed an executive order to overhaul how elections are conducted across the nation, including establishing new voter identification requirements to prove U.S. citizenship to vote in federal elections. Non-U.S. citizens are already not allowed to vote in federal elections.

But under the order, the national mail voter registration form will require that applicants provide either a U.S. passport, a REAL ID driver's license or state-issued card compliant with REAL standards, or a "valid Federal or State government-issued photo identification."......................

17. I'll wait to read the EO.

Too often media say what Trump wants his EOs to say, not what the EOs actually say.

Whether flag burning (which the EO doesn't say is punishable per se) or English as the national language (as opposed to just being the language of just the federal executive branch of government with only required exceptions being permitted), Trump and the media are on the same page--it's just not the same page the EOs are printed on.

Then there are the ones that are simply unenforceable on their face. Still, often enough the wording draws the required legal lines that aren't crossed over, which often makes them more giant banners engaged in virtue signaling.

But signifying nothing. He needs to pass laws, not issue paper with his name on it.

6. I'm an old lady voting near my residence

Same polling place for 30 years. I’ve never had to show anything. I take my voter registration card. They open the book and I sign it. Can you imagine making everyone dig up an ID, even if they are known by the poll workers? Many of these people are neighbors and know each other well. I bet you anything. Trump doesn’t show an ID when he votes.

10. In Mi, it's the law that ID be presented when voting

I’m an election worker in a small, rural town and even though I know everyone who comes to the town hall to vote, I still have to ask for an ID and compare that to the voter registration list.

On occasion, someone forgets to bring an ID and again, even though I know who they are, the law requires they sign an affidavit before they are handed a ballot.

What is the law in your state?

To me it seems like they are accusing every American of cheating and I’m tired of it

“When arriving at a polling place, a poll worker will ask you for proof of identity. A photo ID is not required.

Examples of acceptable IDs:

Delaware Driver’s License
Delaware Identification Card
U.S. Passport
Signed Polling Place card
Signed Social Security card

Signed credit card with photo ...
When arriving at an Early Voting Site, a poll worker will ask you for proof of identity. A photo ID is not required.“

It has my name, my party and my polling place, not photo ID.

18. It doesn't appear that Trump wants a photo ID to vote in person

The EO he signed back in March requiring a photo ID was for those who wanted a mail in ballot. Now he wants to do away with mail in voting all together except for those who are very ill or for military serving overseas.

12. Pissant's latest EO may be toothless* but Democrats REALLY ought to work on

helping people who need help to get a suitable ID. Having a suitable ID is useful or even necessary for so many things in life, but I get that there are disadvantaged folks who struggle with it for various reasons. Dems ought to bust ass helping these people. Then if the sick shitstain succeeds in actually making it a requirement, our voters are ready.

* I don't know if this EO is toothless or not, IANAL or constitutional scholar. But in any case I DO NOT TRUST THE COURTS. Some of our courts are doing great to hold the line against the shitstain, but not all of them, and we sure as hell can't trust the majority on the SC.

16. Just remember - regardless of what he says he is signing, that isn't what he is actually signing.

And, unfortunately, the press will report it as if what he says he is signing is what he actually signed.

Before reacting to inaccurate or incomplete press results:

1. Plug your ears and read the executive order. Diarrhea of the mouth means absolutely nothing - just as it did when he theoretically imposed a 1 year sentence for flag burning - and the executive order did not even claim to make flag burning illegal, much less set a 1-year sentence for it.

2. Even if what he signs has some relation to what he says he is signing, it will almost certainly not go as far as he claims. And - how elections are run is within the control of the state, not federal, government.
