Hawaii tsunami post mortem - minor flooding, some economic hardship, and the state warning systems worked

well. some high water sloshing around in harbors (in Japanese tsunami reportedly means harbor wave). Review of local media reveal little damage and no injuries. Financial hardships as business closed to evacuate, most major airports halted landings/takeoffs at some financial and personal distress.

Local Costco had to close early yesterday. This morning chat there - not grumbling over inconveniences. After all a minor tidal surge where you are could be a 20 foot high wall of water a few beaches down the road.

good system test, coordination was good.

and people had to take a few minutes and sort through priorities.

recalling the 3/11 Japan tsunami in Hawaii most areas had little action yet several locations received severe damages on a local scale.
