Go Texas Dems! The People vs. The Power Grab

Looking for inspiration? The July 25th rally in Austin at the Delco Center delivers!

Beto O'Rouke, Jasmine Crockett, Joaquin Castro, Greg Casar, James Talarico, Gina Hinojosa, and the people of Texas.

My personal highlights: State Rep. James Talarico and Beto O'Rouke (link to the entire program with time codes below)

Entire event

Time codes:

15:30 The event starts with Travis County Party Chair Doug Greco speaking.

19:20 State Rep. Gina Hinojosa (District 49 Central Travis County/Central Austin)

31:00 State Rep. James Talarico (District 50 - Central Travis County/Northeast Austin and Southern Pflugerville)

44:20 U.S. Congressperson Greg Casar (TX 35th congressional district - East Austin to Hays County along 1-35)
This is the fight of our lives. Fired up the crowd with call and response "¿Se puede?" "¡Sí, Se Puede!" (UFW motto)

52:00 U.S. Congressperson Jasmine Crockett (TX 30th congressional district - heart of the Dallas Fort Worth metroplex.)
Fantastic. She makes the case that Texas is blue. It looks more like CA demographically than other red states. Big difference? CA strives to ensure voters have access to the ballot box. They don't engage in voter suppression.

1:01 U.S. Congressperson Joaquin Castro (TX 20th congressional district - more than half of San Antonio)
So many people are just too busy living their lives. They don't know what's at stake. They may not know, but their lives and futures are at stake. When you talk to people, tell your own stories -- why it matters to you. Not what it means in black letters in a 1000 page budget, but what it means to you, your family, your friends and neighbors. He tells his story (car crash that led to a cancer diagnosis -- in the hospital people are just trying to survive, whatever their politics.) Democrats fight for universal healthcare for everyone. We believe everybody should be covered).

1:16:45 Beto O'Rouke.
