In 2007, I was paying 5.00-6.00 per pound - now paying 8.00 - 9.00, small price to pay for great coffee.

Domestic production of coffee is well under 2% of domestic conspumtion as only Hawaii and Puerto Rico currently support commercial coffee farming. We'll eat (or dinrk) the tariff increases. Thanks, trump.

that coffee prices would be rising because the crops were having problems. Me, I buy Costco Kirkland brand beans, which are still +/- $6 a pound (i.e., what a latte costs in many places.)

It's about $2 cheaper for the big container, but it wasn't $11 a month ago.
It's more, but nothing close to 50%.

The increase is way too high and the increase would be on the wholesale number. Say $4 increase. It’s got to be combined it’s tight supplies.

My Walmart has the EXACT same price as yours, so I can tell.

The 22.6oz cannister is $13.96 -- but that is not what is shown in the OP.

The 33.7oz cannister is $19.72 -- EXACTLY as what is shown in the OP.

But your false claim is a good example of how people shouldn't believe everything they see on the internet -- on that, I can agree!

Data says... the Twitter dude posted bullshit.

Price unchanged in the last month... even two months.

And it hasn't been 12.99 in how long? Years?

$14.44 when Trump came into office vs $19.72 now -- that's a ~37% increase in less than half a year.

People wanting to distract from the main point may want to argue whether the price started at $12.99 or $14.44, but fact of the matter is that it is now almost $20.00 and that is a HUGE increase in such a short amount of time regardless of which of the two starting points you use. I'm sure you agree, yes?

For those of us that can still see the forest even with all the trees, the OP's point was that the price of that coffee has increased significantly recently -- and on that, he is exactly correct.

I'm glad that this discussion between the two of us clarifies it for everyone: Walmart -- one of the lowest-priced retailers out there -- has increased this coffee's price by ~37% in just the few short months that Trump has been in office.

It's roasted at a small coffee shop in St. Paul, MN. For any locals, it's JS Bean Factory on Randolf, just east of Snelling.
