30 July 1945 - US Naval History

On this date 80 years ago the USS Indianapolis was sunk by Japanese torpedoes in the Pacific Ocean. The Indy had completed its mission of delivering Atomic Bomb Parts to Tinian Island. It was one of the worst Naval disasters in US History. Almost 900 Sailors and Marines died from the attack. Most died in the water from injuries, exposure, dehydration and Shark Attacks. War is Hell.
