Being that it is just me now, I make a pot of coffee every 2 to 3 days or 12 pots a month. There is 24 hour coffee where I live as well. A lot of my groceries last longer, but still I see the prices inching upwards.

I live in a low cost of living state and just checked the prices at my local grocery store online and they are $6.99/lb, for 80%, $7.79/lb for 85%, $8.49/lb for 93%. And that's just the generic store brand meat at a run-of-the-mill (i.e., not high-end) national grocery store chain.

This is for ground chuck that is priced to sell that day.

It was $2.99 a pound last year.

Rotisserie chicken was $3.99 a bird last year. Now the cheapest I’ve seen it this year is $5.99 a bird.

There are usually better deals on food that is about to expire and needs to be sold ASAP or it will be thrown out, but there are also usually only limited quantities of those, and once the few of them are bought up, you are left with the regular supply at regular prices.

Recently I bought a dozen boxes of instant oatmeal (12 packages in a box) for $.99 a box.

93% lean hamburger where I live is $6 per lb. 80-85% lean is $5 per lb. The low grade hamburger they sell I do not know because these are the only ones that I see in my area.

We ate pinto beans and skillet cornbread last night. I found the price of meat disgusting even before I started to go plant based.

We also knew that no matter how poorly TSF performed his job, his base would sing his praises. I swear, there are no surprises left.

The surprise I feel every day that we are still in this nightmare.

people were fed the bullshit story that the rising price of eggs was emblematic of Biden’s mismanagement of everything, versus the result of bird flu primarily. The perception machine they’ve built has now managed to somewhat quiet what should be screaming outrage over rising food prices.

My girlfriend has been trying to get me to eat less red meat. She's getting her wish only for much different reasons.

And are actually enjoying the heck out of it. Discovered we were buying stuff that was fancier than necessary for soups and stews...

They’re terrible because they’re hard as a rock at first and then when they’re ripe you cut into them and they’re already black on the inside. Total waste of money.

The gap is this pain doesn't seem to reach awareness of party leadership. Why aren't they slamming Krasnov every day on beef/gas/rent/insurance/healthcare costs? All are extremely high.
