Trump Is Quickly Becoming the World's Kidney Stone

Trump Is Quickly Becoming the World’s Kidney Stone
THIS TOO SHALL PASS
The painful truth is that world leaders are being forced to go through the motions of making nonsense ‘trade agreements’ with the United States.

One by one, Donald Trump’s trade deals are bringing the world closer together.

Across our fractious planet on which division and conflict abound, everyone has found at least one thing they can agree upon: These deals are a disaster.

No one likes them. No one should.

They are anti-policy, the opposite of policy. They are born of no ideas, of a complete misunderstanding of history, economics and international affairs. They achieve nothing. They benefit no one. They cause only damage.

They are the work of a mad king surrounded by mad courtiers who seem committed to finding out what happens when ignorance, arrogance and incompetence are the only ingredients in an economic recipe.

For much of the world, the only comfort comes from the fact that the people who are footing the bill for Trump’s tariffs are the ones whose country elected Trump in the first place.

That’d be us. We’re the suckers.

a variety of 'cancer' would be a far better medical metaphor.

And whether it will eventually be 'cured' - or 'pass' - is a question yet to be determined. One suspects the sickness will, at the very least, be 'lingering'.

Not trying to be a downer. But a spade is a spade ... And Trump much more than a kidney stone.

had commented on having to go through this waste of their time, and what I found was quite interesting. The capitalist, conservative right wing is buying up search terms that put a positive focus on what trump is doing. You will see headlines like "Trump Agenda Breakdown - Tariffs and Trump’s Strategy - Watch Now" from such right wing stalwarts as Prager U., The Epoch Times, etc. Eventually you'll get to the fact that there's no news from world leaders this time around, although there was back in early April. And yes, their comments were negative.

I used StartPage.

The usual thinking is that people will look or click the first few links, so if they're operating on that assumption, then they want the public to think positively of this for some reason.

They're looking for new trading partners, just like Canada and Mexico are setting up a trade corridor that cuts out the US as the middleman.

This has long term ramifications for the US, all of them not good.

Mad King Donald just said he is simply imposing tariffs. No negotiated agreements.

Also, international disdain for this cruel tyrannical assclown runs deeper than mere economics. They recognize a vile repulsive creature when they see one, and are gobsmacked to see it elected yet again as president of the (former) leader of the free world.

Trump's trade deals, a global dismay,
Brought the world close, but not in a good way.
With policies mad,
And outcomes quite bad,
Americans foot the bill, sad to say.

They are seen as an insidious dark jest,
And united the world in protest.
With tariffs a curse,
Our wallets grew worse,
And America failed freedom's true test.

The POTUS has personally negotiated a new 15% rise in price on all goods coming from Europe for the American consumer! Brilliant!
