It's fairly true to the novel but in the book it's much more nuanced. Goldfinger uses every cheat in the world but Bond wins of course.

The novel by Ian Fleming are quite remarkable. Bond isn't the super hero as in the films. The first 3 or 4 films were closest to the novels. But by the fifth film, the writers were injecting so much humor that the stories lost their threatening villainess. Still, they're fun.

In Rick Reilly's book. "Commander in Cheat," he tells a story about a couple of PGA pros who were asked why they played with Trump since he's a well known cheat. The players replied that they did it so they could have their own "Trump Cheats at Golf" story to tell!

it was suppsoed to be an "over the top" joke about cheating at golf. Mr. Burns would hit the ball into the middle of nowhere, and Smithers, the loyal toadie, would watch through binoculars and lie and say it is "right on the green!" then run ahead and put a ball on the green.

of course in that case, even Mr. Burns was not awful enough to go along with it. Mr. Burns did not know and was actually upset to find out Smithers was cheating on his behalf.

But trumpf is even worse than a joke about cheating at golf.

I wonder who the caddies are. If they're Scotsmen they're probably disgusted with the way Chump cheats at golf. But maybe these are Secret Service guys, so they're used to him cheating.

He's not hitting over that sand from the high grass, to the green, but I'll bet money his next stroke is a putt. My guess is his ball dropper will leave him a nice putt on the green, maybe even a gimme.
