Parasitic sea vampire bites RFK Jr in health chief's bizarre new stunt

Robert F Kennedy Jr has found himself in another awkward situation involving animals.

On a tour of the Nez Perce salmon hatchery in Idaho on Thursday, RFK Jr let a parasitic sea vampire, also known as a lamprey, bite his arm until the creature left a 'hickey' behind.

The head of the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) posted about the blood-letting adventure on X, writing 'Lampreys hickeys at the Nez Perce salmon hatchery' while showing off pictures of the experience.

Lampreys are jawless fish that look like eels but are a completely different species.

They have a round, sucker-like mouth full of sharp teeth that they use to latch onto other fish and suck their blood for nourishment.

Not content with just one hickey, however, RFK Jr held the roughly two-foot-long lampreys as they sucked blood from both his arms, his wrists, and another person nearby.

There is no medical or scientific reason for letting a lamprey bite him, leaving many to question the bizarre stunt.

The animal's bites can cause injury, infections, or even significant blood loss with prolonged contact. They aren’t used in any therapeutic treatments.

This is a risk, not to mention nauseating, like the other stunts. I couldn’t even finish reading the other ones.

What strange, sick people we have running our government.

But the imagery is far too close to using leaches for medical treatment.

A stark statement about our health care system and its current leadership.

Sea lampreys only parasitize fish. They don't go after warm-blooded organisms, which is why you never see them on whales, seals or sea otters. I have no doubt Brain Worm Bobby put that thing on himself. It's all about theater, diversion, and distraction with these assholes.

It is not a "parasitic sea vampire, also known as a lamprey". It's a lamprey, which is occasionally, but not often, also called a "vampire fish". While some lampreys do migrate from the sea to fresh water, NW Idaho is quite a long way from the ocean, so this is likely a fresh water-only species. And I bet the Nez Perce don't call them "sea vampires".

Never heard them referred to as "sea vampires," either. There is only one species that I know of. They can tolerate a wide range of salinity, much like salmon, which spend most of their lives in the ocean, but spawn in freshwater rivers.

Yeah, The Mail is definitely sensationalizing this even beyond the stunt aspect of it.

Now, if you would attach it to your... member...

THEN, I might be impressed.

The longer you leave it there, the more I will be impressed, sir.

(We should start using their toxic masculinity against them. Start egging them all on to do stupid things. If they don't, rag them mercilessly for it. All press. All mentions in media. "Director Kennedy would not put the lampreys on his pecker. I wonder why? Is there nothing there for the creature to attack to?" Pour that shit on!)

Attaching it to your eye would also be impressive, sir.
