Whose parents also were part of this program. I'm glad they came because they are good friends and I'm richer for having them. I really loved their tamales on holidays too.

I'm sure the visa programs are like this but they are according to industry, have low available visas and are exploitable with lower pay rates. We need new immigration laws. And visas should not be able to be pulled by the Presidents whims.

... regarding treatment of workers. It made workers less likely to complain or organize by making them "illegal".

The bracero program was full of corruption and maltreatment of the workers. I saw it. Most grownups in that town looked the other way. The program continued right up until I graduated from high school in 1963 and moved away from there. It poisoned that town and surrounding communities.
