I don't know what their compensation packages are (I've heard an average of 30 bucks an hour) and there's no shortage of assholes wanting a legal right to beat the shit out of brown people or anybody they don't like. Does that '$30,000' mean they get a bonus of $10,000 per arrest (including the arrest of one US Citizen)?
News like that just MIGHT stick in the craw of MAGA voters who, while happy to see brown people being deported, aren't going to be happy seeing ridiculous amounts of government money being thrown around while they're having trouble putting food on the table.
AND, bonuses like that might cause some friction between local law enforcement and those federal goons! It would be nice to see a local cop pull some brown person over for a minor traffic infraction, and say "screw their bonus" and just write the guy a ticket and let him go.
