Did Maxwell decide to talk for the first time because Trump's personal attorney-turned-Deputy AG gave her immunity?

Last edited Fri Jul 25, 2025, 08:17 PM - Edit history (1)

...remember, Maxwell refused to testify in the trial in which she was convicted, and for years has refused to cooperate with authorities.

There's speculation that Blanche could be carrying a pardon promise in his pocket, however, a promise of immunity from prosecution would allow Trump to avoid directly involving himself.

Blanche posted on X just after 7 p.m. Thursday, "Today, I met with Ghislaine Maxwell, and I will continue my interview of her tomorrow. The Department of Justice will share additional information about what we learned at the appropriate time."

"Ms. Maxwell answered every single question. She never stopped, she never invoked a privilege, she never declined to answer. She answered all the questions truthfully, honestly and to the best of her ability," said Maxwell's attorney, David Oscar Markus, speaking to reporters outside the federal courthouse in Tallahassee, Florida.

Why is she talking, all of the sudden, after all of this time?

Who gets to officially judge if she's being truthful and hold her accountable if she's not? This corrupt administration?

And, did DOJ release Epstein files to Maxwell to rifle through after refusing to release them to the public?

can only offer derivative use immunity, not transactional -- or "blanket" immunity. However, this fellow knows how to communicate that if she wants to get out of prison, there will be a pardon if she gives the answers the administration is looking for. Maxwell is a terrible human being, and only looks out for herself. I note she broke off her relationship with Epstein when his case was being investigated and prosecuted. Years later, of course, she went into hiding. I think she was only willing to communicate with investigators through her lawyers for about three years.

...absent of a re-trial in which they would be in control of that, because her case is still on appeal.

I don't think Trump wants to pardon her. DOJ isn't even supporting her appeal.

I do see Blanche working the case for Trump, as a liason between Maxwell and Congress since no legislator has the same access to her.

The immunity would advantage her in a retrial, now that Trump and DOJ have (deliberately?) muddled the conviction.

to grant transactional immunity. They had originally claimed a wider power, which was struck down in the USSC. So Congress re-wrote the law on that, to be able to grant immunity to the extent the DOJ cannot use their testimony to either investigate potential leads that result, or to use in a trial.
