If it has to pass through ten for-profit agencies prior to paying for the health care, obviously the end user gets hit for a fortune. There are too many versions of John Grisham’s “Great Benefit” out there. But we can’t have a purely government-run agency of disinterested government bureaucrats running it, either. If we have that, we get a version like where a Swedish friend told me, “man måste vara nästan död för att komma i sjukhuset.” You have to be pretty much dead before you get admitted to a hostpital.

the a labor tax ( what ever that is ) 8%

So even the lowest workers pay 45%, the highest is 52%. But the labor tax is added on to that.

A few years ago I saw a video on this exact thing ( burger king ), and averaging out the cost of living the american worker did a little better income wise. Benefit wise the Danish employee did a little better, but the taxes they paid is what gave them the vacation and extra stuff. So in the video they said it really was a wash, both workers ended up about the same standards of living and ability to pay for things.

I was taxed at a 15% national rate, and a 25% municipal rate on an income of $90,00 USD. I also was charged a VAT tax of 25% on nearly every purchase I made. I can tell you that Big Mac cost about $11 USD.

The Danes are a close-knit people. While they are respective they are only social to life long friends for the most part. The cost of living in Copenhagen is very high. November through March are dark and dreadful months.

In the US it's watching some Retrumplican jet off to play a round of golf.

I was healthy so I never had to partake of their healthcare services.

Taxes aren’t only spent on healthcare.

Healthcare, pensions...

That includes taking care of everyone. They don’t have a “rugged individualism” fantasy ruining their entire society like the US does.

America is full of sick people who all hate each other and can go bankrupt any time, as well as a few billionaires who have hoarded 99.9% of the wealth.

I think Denmark should be our inspiration.
