Nice guy, and funny too.
Here he is early on playing some bebop with Art Blakey and a 21 year old Keith Jarrett.

(8,957 posts)But it was already some years ago when he started wanting to discuss his last wishes. At his funeral he wants life-affirming music. He likes a very broad spectrum on music, so his choices include Georg Philippe Telemann and Jose Carreras. But he wants the final piece - he last word - to be Mangione's "Give It All You've Got." (I have made a file of mp3s and also burned a CD.) Thank you, Chuck.
