Both my wife and son have used AI in their work and both have found that while it pulls in prodigious amounts of info, frequently you have to sort, edit and verify what you get not to mention fix a bunch of grammar and general English usage issues if you want to use it for writing. They work in very different fields (cybersecurity and electrical engineering) but agree that those who use AI blindly and trustingly will be quickly showing themselves to be shallow frauds to those they foist the AI generated garbage on.

That's why it's plagued with "hallucinations", nonsense rambling, and "slop".

It just grabs stuff from whatever has been piled in front of it and throws it together using proper grammar (sometimes).
