Those 3 Los Angeles explosive experts killed last week CUT A GRENADE IN HALF thinking it was inert

Details: Ex military guy moved out of a Santa Monica apartment years ago. He left grenades in the associated storage unit. New tenant found the grenades and called the cops. Explosive experts picked them up. The explosion experts thought the grenades were inert and cut one in half.

They are now raiding the guys boat and car.

The investigation into the deaths of three L.A. County deputies, all killed by an explosion of military-style grenades thought to be inert, has made its way from Santa Monica to Marina del Rey where law enforcements officials were spotted outside an apartment complex Monday. Step 1 is cut grenade in half? Aren't they supposed to assume live explosive until determined otherwise?

Dude who left them there also seems to have a couple screws loose. How far into la-la land do you have to be to forget your illegal explosives? Lock HIM up.

I'm also confused about the actions of the experts? They didnt use their robot or wear that big thick explosive suit?

I'm sure LA Sheriff's department will be investigating. Other departments will use this as a lesson... don't cut up grenades.

The "expert" that trained us how to use grenades said "Throw the fucking thing and duck". I don't recall his instructing us how to cut then in half.
