(1,492 posts)It sounds counterintuitive, but the very fact that a person is listening/receptive to an idea--even a bit--makes them an easier target for vitriol.
It's not like there aren't an abundance of reps completely ignoring the genocide in Palestine, who would make more sensible and productive targets for resistance.

(102 posts)In my mind, AOC was always very pro-Palestinian, anti-Israel, but perhaps my views are dated. She has moderated a bit. This is not the first time she has been accused of not being anti-Israel enough:
In a statement announcing the decision to withdraw its endorsement of Ocasio-Cortez, DSAs national leadership suggested that the congressional representatives stance on issues related to Israel and Palestine had cost her the socialist organizations endorsement.
A national DSA endorsement comes with a serious commitment to the movement for Palestine and our collective socialist project. To build a socialist movement thats capable of defeating capitalism, we must demand more from leaders in our movement, the statement reads.
The statement specifically criticized Ocasio-Cortezs decision to vote for a House resolution that labeled denial of Israels right to exist as an example of antisemitism and her recent participation in a panel about antisemitism.
