...although I know Republicans wouldn't have allowed it, was to stick with what President Biden ran on and wanted to implement, which was keep the federal income tax cuts for those making less than $200,000 of taxable income ($400,000 for couples), and jack up the rates about those amounts. The wider, lower brackets at those income levels would have kept cuts for those who are most likely to spend that extra money.
