They had a 15 year old kid at Alligator Alcatraz. Since moved.

I looked in LBN GD and Greatest to see if this had been posted.

A 15-year-old boy with no criminal history ended up at Alligator Alcatraz after rush to fill facility

Authorities detained a 15-year-old boy without a criminal record at Alligator Alcatraz amid the haste to fill up the Florida facility, according to reports.

As the state scrambled to open the controversial detention center, Alexis, the teenager, seems to have been caught up in the mix. On July 1, three days before the facility officially opened, Florida Highway Patrol stopped a vehicle packed with Alexis and his friends before handing him over to federal authorities, the Miami Herald and Tampa Bay Times first reported.

The Florida Division of Emergency Management, which oversees the facility, admitted he had been detained, explaining he lied about his age when officers stopped him.

“While at Alligator Alcatraz, an individual disclosed they had misrepresented their age upon arrest to ICE. Immediate action was taken to separate and remove the detainee in accordance with federal protocols,” a spokesperson for the division told The Independent in a statement. “This is one of many problems with illegal immigration: individuals are in our country without any way to verify their identity.”

Who were the friends, and why, how and where were they stopped by FHP?

If you lie to the Popo and don't have any ID, and other people are arrested, then I probably wouldn't advise lying at that point.

However, they should have went to regular Miami-Dade booking or where the infraction occurred, not an ICE facility...Unless that's not the full story?

There has to be a record and documented transfer records.

We have to remember that ICE just has a daily body count number to hit - 3,000. It doesn’t appear they have any concern about how it turns out and there’s apparently NO probable cause needed let alone a warrant.

If the individual has no ID and is with other undocumented individuals, then they would probably all be arrested/detained until each person could be identified and the entire thing sorted out.

Here is the facts always ignored on arrest warrants and immigration stops...If someone has been caught crossing the border, say five years ago, and they then ignored the deferred immigration court date, (which, unfortunately, many have done), then that's going to be a problem if they are detained. That's because, that person's fingerprints were taken and they are on file when they were released. . If they never showed up for their hearing after being released on their own recognizance, then they will have an immigration capias issued, which is an arrest warrant.

if someone, (like this person), is with this group and they have no ID, and lie about their age, then the popo will just run an NCIC check on their claimed name. If there is a hit on another person with the same name, but different birthday, then the person will still be detained.

Bottom line, don't travel with people with possible arrest warrants and if you do, then carry your ID and don't lie about your age.
