Brian Tyler Cohen: The best way to ensure that center/RW audiences know what Democrats stand for is to tell them

His Bluesky message in two posts. This thread's title is from the second one.

Seeing more Dems get in front of center/rightwing audiences. @jamestalarico.bsky.social, Bernie went on Rogan... Tommy Vietor & Jon Favs went on Flagrant... @gavinnewsom.bsky.social went on Shawn Ryan... @petebuttigieg.bsky.social went on Flagrant & Barstool... I went on Piers, Chris Cuomo, Maher...

@rokhanna.bsky.social went on Tim Pool, Flagrant, Glenn Beck and Theo Von. The best way to ensure that those audiences know what Democrats stand for is to tell them. If we abandon those spaces, we can't act surprised when the only exposure their viewers get to Democrats is through a rightwing lens.

and a good command of the facts (and a ready answer when they throw you a curveball “fact”), but it can and should be done.

You might feel good for a moment if you snub a RW schmuck, but you abandon their audience to one-sided misinformation.

IMO, Kamala Harris should have gone on Rogan. She can hold her own—she was a prosecutor. Canceling made her look like she had something to hide.

* shining a bright light on everything that's positive and good about the Democratic party. This is something that needs to be shouted from the rooftops. --- It will be a welcome change from the constant barrage of negativity coming from certain anti-Democrat and anti-Democratic party individuals and groups and organizations who feel compelled to perpetuate the myths and lies that tarnish our great party's image and reputation. I'll be happy when the positive messages are loud enough to drown-out the continual chorus who mistakenly believe that there's some "benefit" in convincing the world of the lie that "both parties are the same" or that "the Democratic party is corrupt and filled with oligarchs" or worse yet... "that it doesn't matter who you vote for, as long as you vote" (and other such nonsensical and destructive comments.)

So, I applaud those who want to promote a positive message about the party and our wise, experienced, stalwart and loyal Democratic leadership.
