The Epstein case is going to amount to nothing

In a week, it will hardly be mentioned, in a month, poof, it will be gone. Trump will do his usual gish gallop thing, and some other shiny thing of the moment will take its place, then another and another, ad infinitum. As far as this "MAGA civil war" goes, it too will amount to nothing. People will fall back in line because there is too much for them to lose if they don't.

As far as the files making some appearance at a future date under a Democratic administration, not happening, there are too many powerful Democrats in those files as well as Republicans for anybody to make them public. Whether Ghislaine Maxwell has any dirt, maybe, maybe not, but given what happened to Jeffery Epstein, she's going to be mum and hope to get out of prison alive.

The Epsein files are a mutual political suicide pact, and nobody is going to pull the pin on that one. If it hasn't happened already, those files will be destroyed, everything swept under the rug, and fades I to a historical footnote. And Trump will pay no price, he is the second coming of Teflon Ron, Teflon Don.

It's become clear to me that the only way out of this shitstorm is to wade all the way through it. It's not gonna dissipate or collapse on its own cuz you are right, they have too much (pride) to lose.

they are most likely projecting or lying.

Trump just accused Obama, Sec Clinton and Joe Biden of "writing" the Epstein files. Pretty sure you are too smart to believe ridiculous claims like that.

Welcome to DU! Glad to see you!

JEFFREY EPSTEIN IS ABOUT TRUMP’S FAILING ABILITY TO COMMAND ATTENTION
https://www.emptywheel.net/2025/07/13/jeffrey-epstein-is-about-command-of-attention/

The bubbling Jeffrey Epstein scandal is about two things: the underlying scandal and any ties Trump has to it, and the way it has disrupted Trump’s normal super power ability to command and direct attention.

His attack on Rosie O’Donnell yesterday shows that his ability to direct the attention of the left remains undiminished and makes clear why this power is so important to Trump.

Trump’s attack on the comedian, just hours before his latest inept intervention in the Epstein matter, came in the wake of a number of stories — the NYT story describing that key National Weather Service positions were vacant when the flood hit, the CNN report on a three day delay that Kristi Noem caused in the search and rescue, reports on Kerr County’s refusal to accept a Dem-funded early warning system that Rayne wrote up here, the NYT story describing how Noem cut off funding to a call center while it was fielding calls from survivors — holding Trump’s Administration or Republicans accountable for exacerbating the impact of the flood.

When Trump tweeted that Rosie O’Donnell “is a Threat to Humanity” and claimed to be considering stripping her citizenship (she lives in Dublin but as far as I know does not yet have Irish citizenship), that post circulated wildly among journalists and the left, sometimes with commentary about how grave a threat it was that Trump would even make such threats (which he has no legal power to carry out).

This will blow over and soon. He’s going to do something to distract this week and people will move on.

They never intended to released anything real. They probably had a fake set of papers ready, but someone told them it would t work.

And I don’t think there’s much there really. Epstein wasn’t running a brothel or anything. He kept underaged girls around not for money or for blackmail even, he was just a creep and knew some other sickos who liked teenaged girls.

Start trickling out the evidence. I can’t believe that someone during the previous Administration didn’t make copies. Leaks will give Trump a melt-down.

I think we all know that there are many, rich, influencial men involved.

I hope all of them are forever worried and paranoid that they could be outed at anytime.

The Ties That Bind Jeffrey Epstein, William Barr & Donald Trump

Todd Neikirk
Hill Reporter, May 19, 2019

During Attorney General, William Barr’s confirmation hearing, he was mostly peppered with questions about how he would handle the Mueller Report. Senator Ben Sasse’s (R-NE) questioning, however, diverged from the pack. Sasse asked Barr about the lenient sentence given out to billionaire pedophile, Jeffrey Epstein. The future Attorney General told Sasse that he would look into the matter.

This, however, was not the first connection between Barr and his family and the disgraced pedophile. In 1973, Barr’s father Donald, the headmaster at Manhattan’s Dalton School, hired Epstein as a calculus and physics teacher.

While hiring Epstein, a noted mathematics genius, was not strange on its face, the hire was unusual for a number of reasons. Epstein had not earned a college degree as he dropped out of New York’s prestigious Cooper Union. The other odd circumstance was that the new teacher was only 20 years of age.

Apparently, the hire was a successful one. The New Yorker wrote in a 2003 profile on Epstein, “he was something of a Robin Williams–in–Dead Poets Society type of figure, wowing his high-school classes with passionate mathematical riffs.” Epstein’s mathematical skills caught the eye of Bear Stearns’ chairman, Alan “Ace” Greenberg, whose son attended the Dalton School. Greenberg hired Epstein as an options trader and the former teacher was able to amass a fortune.

Some of it contains far more details than any governmental entity would ever publish.

I’m not sure what is so critical about the FBI version that is causing the backlash.

Learned from the CCCP. Electronic surveillance… Pre-edited for maximum shock value.

Still, I doubt that would be a part of any official release. Sort of like the Apprentice out-takes, we all know they exist(ed) and were very graphic. Yet, for some reason since they have never been shown it’s easy to shrug them off.

My own guess is his that future is quite a bit less rosier than what yours leads to, and that a tipping point does in fact, exist.
