but the point was made that it would violate the "norms of our politics". It was a " Forlorn Hope". Democrats think fighting with one hand tied behind your back shows your honest intent. Republicans fight with both hands around your neck, showing their honest intent to prevail, regardless of "honor".

to expand the Court to thirteen members. Nancy Pelosi declined to bring it to the floor, I believe. It was always, as I said, a "Forlorn Hope", but there was a lot of Progressive juice for the notion, and a slim majority in the Senate. Personally, I thought McConnell had already ignored the " norms" of ethical behavior, so give it a shot. Dirty Business... what's good for the Goose.....

I'm constantly surprised at the divergence of opinions, and troubled when the Constitution is interpreted to support racism.
