Biden should have "packed the Court". Couldn't be worse than this!

(259 posts)but the point was made that it would violate the "norms of our politics". It was a " Forlorn Hope". Democrats think fighting with one hand tied behind your back shows your honest intent. Republicans fight with both hands around your neck, showing their honest intent to prevail, regardless of "honor".

(34,573 posts)convince SC justice Sotomayor to retire. President Biden was very successful in nominating and getting lower judges appointed.

(259 posts)to expand the Court to thirteen members. Nancy Pelosi declined to bring it to the floor, I believe. It was always, as I said, a "Forlorn Hope", but there was a lot of Progressive juice for the notion, and a slim majority in the Senate. Personally, I thought McConnell had already ignored the " norms" of ethical behavior, so give it a shot. Dirty Business... what's good for the Goose.....
