Revenge against enemies real and imagined, collapsing the U.S.A. from within as a gift to Putin, enriching himself financially after sending in a drug-abusing, delusional, narcissistic immigrant who doesn't understand how our government works (but really didn't need to in order to "accomplish" what he and his little hacker goons got away with).
The media is STILL coming at this in a linear, logical manner, attempting to unravel some brilliant, diabolical master plan.
1). Trump "holds a grudge" forever. Every one of his ghost-written books includes a chapter OR lengthy passages about "the importance of revenge" and hitting back 10 times harder. Of course, when your enemies are as imaginary as the offense you feel you need to avenge, things get sticky.
2). I doubt that Putin could dream a better wet dream than the one Trump is handing him.
3). He's getting those paid 3 day golf weekends again, plus taxpayer-funded trips to the Super Bowl, Daytona, and a U.F.C. fight (with Musk and his brat in tow, as well as Kash Patel and other MAGAt goons).
4). He got to unravel a number of Biden initiatives. If there's anyone he hates more than Barack Obama it's Joe Biden, because Biden beat him in 2020, which required Trump to sustain his "big lie" for four years.
5). While his bouncing, prancing, A-hole in a K-hole busts into the federal bank vaults, Fat Orange Rapist Felon Grampy Jesus stands by for his "taste."
6). The layoffs of federal workers, cuts to medical programs, programs for working people, Veterans, and poor people, food programs, and more, are causing SCORES of Americans to suffer. This is the part where everyone needs to understand that Trump wants as many Americans to suffer as harshly as possible as "revenge" for electing Joe Biden in 2020.
Unless I missed something, that's the "agenda" (and of course, "Project 2025." Trump's just a useful idiot on that one, as he is with everything else.

(4,297 posts)If I were a major network anchor reporting on Trump on a Monday I would start, "After a three day weekend mostly golfing, President Trump today...". I guess relevant context and facts are harder than I thought. Maybe there is a place for me as a pundit solely focusing on Trump's wastes of time, golfing and so on.

Just in case? Just for fun? Just for revenge?
All of that.

(19,013 posts)The media is tap-dancing around the fact that John Roberts did say, essentially, "You're above the law. Go do whatever you'd like."
I think Roberts is smart enough to know who he's dealing with. I'd GUARANTEE Thomas and Alito know and DON'T CARE.
You can't hand an arsonist a box of matches and say "Please use these responsibly," but now that Trump's intentions are clear, Roberts is looking at some highly unlikely damage control in regard to whatever is left of the SCOTUS' "reputation."
And for Clarence, he gets to check an item off on his bucket list.
"The liberals made my life miserable for 43 years," a former clerk remembered Thomas who was 43 years old when confirmed saying, according to The New York Times. "And I'm going to make their lives miserable for 43 years."
