Eric Swallwell holds a townhall in Folsom county, and the folks are not happy.

After a couple DUers pointed out the error in this post, I am editing it. Sorry about that folks.

But LOOK at this…look at the amount just in this small community center who get social security. People who worked hard their entire life, and now essential programs and safety nets are being gutted. It’s absurd, and cruel.

Folsom is the last small sliver nest to full red hat territory with mega Trump signs and mega trucks but Folsom is slightly Democratic but you wouldn’t know it when you canvas or see all the signs.

surrounded by Red. Typically, those of us in the urban zones are Blue-leaning, and concentrated, while those in the rural areas are much more diffuse and tilted Red, to the right, reflecting their independent streak and desire for more privacy than the cities can provide. Viewing the electoral map after Hillary's non-selection, I was taken by the notion that Dems had totally lost the "septic tank vote", reflecting a political divide over how we regard each other and our living conditions. Civility is hard for some people, and patience with diversity is short, leading some to opt-out of "community" altogether. Folsom is a rapidly growing community, and as the 'burbs fill up, they are leaning a bit more left for the time-being.

"Davisville" until Southern Pacific decided the text was too long for their schedule list, so forced them to shorten the name in order to be included on the schedule. That is how much power SP had over the State.

regarding the political leanings of Sacramento metro area. As I said earlier, Placer & El Dorado County are more red with El Dorado being as EFFED UP as it could be without being in certain unfortunate parts of Ok, AL, MS, etc. When you go north toward Shasta, Redding, it's down right scary, cult like following. Large swathes of the San Joaquin is ignorant too, especially when you get south of Stockton, tragically so from Fresno south through Bakersfield but Sac is NOT what the poster described it as.

disgruntled farmers caught up in the water wars here. Historically, allocations have routinely outstripped the actual supply, and accusations of corruption fly frequently. Agriculture is a HUGE industry here, and stable and adequate water supply is essential to California's economy, so tempers can run high. The industry resents the Government, of course, and many jobs are dependent on a strong Agriculture industry. Urban areas have to compete for water for their citizens and the businesses in the cities. All this is complicated by California's mild climate and year-round agricultural seasons attracting more population growth. By my measure, we are already overpopulated and resources are stressed. This contributes to an undercurrent of conflict between urban and rural populations.

It's like a blue violet. El Dorado is different as is Placer but Sacramento is NOT red AT ALL! Oh and Folsom is NOT a county, it's a city IN Sacramento County, to the East north East.
