They were being used to clear roads to facilitate the movement of ambulances and rescuers, as well as clear rubble to free the bodies under it.
In a statement on Tuesday, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) said it carried out attacks on "engineering vehicles" used for "terror purposes."
Yeah, sure... Of course.
Of those 11,000 people, who knows how many died a slow and painful death because, since the beginning of the "war"* Israel has continued to destroy these life-saving equipment.
A recent investigation from Sky News highlighted how Gazans trapped under debris and rubble die slow deaths as residents attempt to dig them out with inadequate equipment such as a trowel or hammer. The U.N., relying on local reports, estimates that 11,000 bodies are trapped under the rubble.
The video describes efforts to rescue 15 people - 12 children - from one family that had to be abandoned. The cries of the children were heard for days as people tried to save them with sledgehammers, trowels and rope - until the cries stopped.
Just think about that.
