(30,814 posts)is to generate the "horror stories" that now permeate the news.
Far from being bad for Trump, the stories ARE THE GOAL.
Much like child separation from Trump first term.
It is meant to deter people from entering the USA in the first place.
Of course, it won't work... i mean it will work for a little while, but the conditions in the home country these people are coming from are sometime very dire... death is just around the corner there... people live hand to mouth every day. They can either join the gangs that deal in drugs and trafficking or leave for the US and menial jobs for needed cash ( jobs that will now be completely off the books ). They will choose to risk CECOT and migrate anyway.
But the stories about deporting people to CECOT without a court finding or any criminal charges... that is a Stephen Miller special. He would have really fit right in with the Nazi high command.

.The problem is the US corporate news media keeps saying these folks were deported, which sounds normal(ish) and doesnt usually call for a lot of scrutiny,
when in fact they were imprisoned without a conviction or sentencing,
which absolutely does.
.They were all moved illegally. Kidnapped not deported.
