I'm watching MSNBC talking about Trump's flip flops on tariffs and on firing the Fed chair and the effect it's having on the markets.
They, and the rest of the corporate media, are covering this garbage as if it's normal and as if he has the right to do it. What they should be talking about is all the things he's doing that he has absolutely no legal or constitutional right to do, and exactly why he has no legal or constitutional right to do them. That's the story. In a rational world.

(6,450 posts)rather than the moral and extra-legal aspects of the tariffs. They especially seem to fixate on the stock market compared to their meager attention to how the economy is affecting working people. The only recent exception to this was in the months before the 2024 election where they reported continuously on the price of eggs and other groceries, many months after the rate of inflation had approached more "normal" levels.
I think the corp. news media has accepted that Trump will seize and use whatever power he can, regardless of the legality. Some of these same media people pooh-poohed the notion that Trump was a grave danger to our republic. Now they are finding out and they hardly seem to care.
