Tesla Stock

Sorry, I know I've brought this up before and I'm going to continue to point out how absurd it is that had an absolutely cataclysmic quarterly report: auto revenue fell 20%. Adjusted income fell 39%. Year over year profitability fell 71% but the stock was up almost 5% on the day.

I get the part that eLoon announced he was going focus on Tesla more than DOGE but that cake is already baked. No reasonable person could have the expectation that he can somehow right the ship. He isn't that guy. Arguably he will only make it worse. How do I know? One word: Cybertruck

The customers that Musk has driven away will never return and the crypto bros that pump and dump meme stocks won't be able to keep this stock propped up.

Doing the numbers will drive you nuts. But keep doing them. I do for selfish reasons. I’m slow to pull the trigger but I’m looking every day at our holdings (none in Tesla.)

Is Cybertruck one word or two?

3. Tesla value has never been based on financials.

It's priced like a tech company and investors see tesla cabs running around in the future and tesla robots vacuuming the living room.

Sometimes a ticker is just a trading vessel... that's tesla.

7. It's a meme stock, at this point. It has been for a while. It's the same with DJT stock.

The best advice I can give (without having the credentials to give financial advice) is to avoid that bullshit and invest in real things.

8. Tesla was a trumpet call to the faithful.

The Future calls, Boy Genius sees what lies ahead, be a follower of the Techno Messiah, Elon is your cult leader, the joining fee is the purchase of one of his eleccy cars.
The real world genius smarts will rub off on you, all you have to do is believe and pay up.

The biggest problem - one of them anyway - of self declared BigHeads is that they assume their luck/genius/skills in one field transfers magically to another.
And people assume that is so, but reality?
Did Trump in The Apprentice come over as a big and smart businessman? Is he in reality, and did that skill transfer to politics?
How does Trump look now?
And Elon Boy_Wonder Musk, he is now exposed as being just another Republican source of static, of disruption.

Tesla was a trumpet call to the faithful.
But that trumpet is now tarnished, and sounds muted and offkey.

There a few other companies out there which have valuations that make little sense. Palantir is another good example. It has a P/E of somewhere around 400? It’s absurd. A lot of times, it just comes down to buy the rumor, sell the news. But in this economy, who knows the difference.

Meme stocks can make some people a lot of money and others getting the rug pulled from under them.

10. Tesla the brand is destroyed.

One man did that Musk. Just like one man #47 is chumping the World Markets with his tariffs.
I think the Tesla brand is irreversibly negative. Only chance it has in the long run is if it's sold at some point to another car manufacturer or inovative company. That would be down the road though at a much discounted price.

RIP Tesla.

11. It went up on the desperate hope that the imbecilic CEO has decided to abandon his damaging hobby

The shareholders should sue him for the absolute destruction that he's brought to the brand identity. Who thought it was wise to insult and make enemies of liberal urban dwellers when you sell electronic vehicles? For a completely unrelated side-project!

12. Tesla is like a checklist of things you don't want to see in a company

1) Shrinking sales and profitability - check
2) Aging product line - check
3) New products way behind schedule - check
4) Brand trashed - check
5) Market saturation - check
6) Brutal competition - check
7) Absentee CEO that has never executed a turnaround - check

Sounds like a winner, for sure
