Sorry, I know I've brought this up before and I'm going to continue to point out how absurd it is that had an absolutely cataclysmic quarterly report: auto revenue fell 20%. Adjusted income fell 39%. Year over year profitability fell 71% but the stock was up almost 5% on the day.
I get the part that eLoon announced he was going focus on Tesla more than DOGE but that cake is already baked. No reasonable person could have the expectation that he can somehow right the ship. He isn't that guy. Arguably he will only make it worse. How do I know? One word: Cybertruck

Is Cybertruck one word or two?

Sometimes a ticker is just a trading vessel... that's tesla.

The real world genius smarts will rub off on you, all you have to do is believe and pay up.
The biggest problem - one of them anyway - of self declared BigHeads is that they assume their luck/genius/skills in one field transfers magically to another.
And people assume that is so, but reality?
Did Trump in The Apprentice come over as a big and smart businessman? Is he in reality, and did that skill transfer to politics?
How does Trump look now?
And Elon Boy_Wonder Musk, he is now exposed as being just another Republican source of static, of disruption.
Tesla was a trumpet call to the faithful.
But that trumpet is now tarnished, and sounds muted and offkey.

(42 posts)There a few other companies out there which have valuations that make little sense. Palantir is another good example. It has a P/E of somewhere around 400? Its absurd. A lot of times, it just comes down to buy the rumor, sell the news. But in this economy, who knows the difference.
Meme stocks can make some people a lot of money and others getting the rug pulled from under them.

I think the Tesla brand is irreversibly negative. Only chance it has in the long run is if it's sold at some point to another car manufacturer or inovative company. That would be down the road though at a much discounted price.
RIP Tesla.
